The community of Kansas City is mourning the tragic loss of Roger Stroble, 74, who passed away following a devastating three-vehicle crash that has left multiple individuals injured and families grieving.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on the afternoon of May 20 near 34th Street and Merriam Lane. Investigators reported that a 2019 McLaren 570S, driven by Sidney Kile, 28, of Olathe, was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed when it struck a 2017 Honda Accord driven by Anne Wohl, 37, of Lenexa, who was attempting to turn north.
The force of the impact reportedly pushed the McLaren into a stopped 2018 Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by Aaron Stich, 47, of Brookline Station, resulting in a serious multi-vehicle collision.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported Roger Stroble, who was a passenger in the McLaren, to the University of Kansas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Despite medical efforts, he was later pronounced deceased.
Sidney Kile was also taken to the hospital with suspected serious injuries. Authorities have not fully released details regarding the conditions of the other individuals involved.
